Accepted NP Examinations for Canadian and Internationally Educated Nurse (IEN) NP Applicants
On February 23rd, 2023, CRNNL Council approved to accept all exams that are currently approved by other Canadian nursing jurisdictions as accepted exams for NPs currently licensed in another Canadian jurisdiction in any category of practice and for Internationally Educated Nurse Practitioner (IEN) applicants who seek licensure in NL. Further, Council will accept any additional exam(s) approved by another jurisdiction prior to the development and approval of the new one national NP exam.
Exams for example that are accepted by CRNNL Council include but are not limited to:
F/AA
- CNPE: F/AA (if written in 2005 or later)
- ANCC Family All Ages Exam (if written Oct. 1st, 2001 or later.)
- AANPCP Family Exam (if written January 2013 or later)
- AANPCB family, 2005 to present
Adult
- AANPCP Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Exam (if written January 2013 or later)
- ANCC Adult Nurse Practitioner Exam (Exam written from 2002 to September 30, 2016)) (Canadian or U.S. version)
- AANPCB adult gerontology primary care, 2013 to present
- AANPCB adult, 2005 to present
Pediatric
- ANCC Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Exam (if written 2002 or later)
- PNCB Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Primary Care Certification Exam (if written Dec. 1995 or later)
Neonatal
- NCC Neonatal (if written 1994 or later)
- OIIQ Neonatology (if written in 2006 or later)
