The Newfoundland and Labrador College of Nurses is the regulatory body for all nurses in the province. This includes Registered Nurses (RNs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), Licensed Practical Nurses, and Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs).
We set the standard for excellence to ensure quality nursing care for all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.

How We Serve the Public
The College is committed to ensuring standards for safe, ethical, and skilled nursing practice for all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians. Learn more about our mandate, mission, and vision.
Our Team
The team at the College brings deep experience from both the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and the College of Registered Nurses.
Board of Directors
The Board is made up of members who represent both the profession and the public. It includes nurses elected by their peers and appointed members of the public. This ensures community perspectives are considered in decision-making.
Legislation and Policies
Provincial legislation, bylaws, and policies give the College its authority. Together, they outline how nursing is regulated, how decisions are made, and how accountability and fairness are ensured.
Strategic Plans and Reports
These planning, reporting, and financial documents describe and support our goals, key actions, and areas of focus. They provide insight into how we fulfil our responsibilities and advance our mandate.
Statistics and Surveys
Curious about how many nurses there are in the province? Or where new nurses are from? Find stats and trends on how the profession is evolving. You’ll also hear from nurses; we gather their feedback regularly to help improve nursing care.
Nursing Education Approval
The standards of professional care set by the College start from the moment a new nursing student steps into the classroom. Learn more about the process and our partners in educating new nurses.
