The Brain Story: How Early Childhood Experience Impact Brain Development and Potential Risk for Mental Health and Addictions

Adverse childhood experiences, such as neglect, household dysfunction, and abuse, can negatively impact the development of a child’s brain. This can increase their risk of health and social problems later in life, including addiction, mental illness, and other chronic diseases. This session focuses on how children’s early experiences
impacts brain development.
