Renewal for the 2022-2023 Year is Now Open

For Immediate Release

January 24, 2022

All RNs and NPs are advised that licensure renewal is now open for the 2022-2023 year and to visit MyCRNNL as soon as possible to renew your 2022-23 practicing licence or non-practicing membership.

As regulated professionals, RNs and NPs are required to provide the College with all required documentation so that your licence can be issued by March 31st. Failure to submit your practicing licence application by the administrative deadline of March 1st, will result in a late fee of $50 plus HST.

The importance of renewing as soon as possible cannot be understated. Practising nursing without a licence is against the law. Each shift worked without the proper documentation will result in a fine of $100 per shift and an allegation of conduct deserving of sanction may be filed against you. To avoid any penalties, it is in your best interest to renew immediately.

When you are renewing, you are obligated to ensure the following:

  • You will adhere to the Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners and the Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses.
  • You have completed all Continuing Competency Program (CCP) requirements. Completion of CCP is required before the College will renew your licence. Ensure you have completed all components prior to submitting your application.
  • Complete application and payment for Canadian Nurses Protective Society (CNPS) professional liability. To learn more about CNPS services, including optional supplementary protection, click here.
  • Prior to commencing practice on April 1, please confirm your licensure status by using the member search section of the website.

Further details and answers to FAQs can be found on the College webpage under the Renewal Section or by emailing [email protected]
