Summary:
The presenters in this education session provide an overview of genetics and genomics in nursing practice. They discuss the relevance of genomics and provide an overview of some of the initiatives to promote genomic literacy among nurses. They also outline areas where nurses can become involved in the dialogue to mobilize a genomically-literate profession, that is able to meet patient’s health and information needs as we enter the genomic era of healthcare.
