Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP-NL) and the Requirements for NPs

Summary

This education event will give a brief overview of the Prescription Monitoring Program-NL to help explain why the program was created, its role in addressing drug misuse, and the specific activities the program is responsible for. We will discuss the Prescription Monitoring Act and the requirements for prescribers under the Act. We will review navigating HEALTHe NL’s Medication Profile including the new Monitored Drug tab. As well as answer some FAQs about HEALTHe NL including the difference between prescriptions and dispenses and the different statuses (active, aborted, etc.) of each.
