NP ELCs: New NP Regulation
Original Presentation Date: 28 March 2023
Summary
This presentation will introduce the revised nurse practitioner entry-level competencies that were developed by the Canadian Council of Registered Nurse Regulators’ NP Regulation Framework Implementation Plan Project (NPR-FIPP) and approved by the College Council on February 23, 2023. Even though NPs’ roles and responsibilities may vary by context and client population, NP ELCs are competencies all new NPs must possess to be competent when they begin practice and reflect the foundational knowledge, skills, and judgement required of NPs to provide safe, competent, ethical, and compassionate care at entry to practice.
