Harm Reduction and Addiction: Everyone has a Role

Original Publication Date: 26 February 2025

This session will provide an overview of illicit drug use in Newfoundland and Labrador, including information on illicit drugs that are available in our communities, statistics on overdose deaths, and rates of hospital admissions due to illicit drug use. Our panelists will also provide information on the benefits of incorporating a harm reduction approach to service delivery, while exploring some of the practice realities and ethical considerations. Regardless of your practice area, this session is applicable to those who practice frontline, management, and in policy development because we all have a role in the health and well-being of the clients we care for.
