A Policy Proposal for a Dedicated Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Syndrome Follow-up and Navigation Program

In this presentation, a brief overview of genetics, hereditary cancer, and hereditary cancer prevention strategies will be presented. Moreover, key findings of a Master of Nursing practicum project aimed at hereditary cancer prevention will be presented. The output of the MN practicum project was a policy proposal where 5 key recommendations were outlined for a dedicated hereditary breast and ovarian cancer navigation and follow-up program in Newfoundland and Labrador. The practicum project methods, results, and future implications will be discussed in this teleconference session.
