Opportunity to Join the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) Council (2024-2027)
The College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador is issuing a call for nominations for Registered Nurses (RNs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) in Newfoundland and Labrador to join the College Council.
The Council has the legislative authority to govern the College via the Registered Nurses Act, 2008. RNs elected to the Council play a fundamental role in governing key regulatory areas such as Registration/Licensing, Professional Conduct/Discipline, and Professional Practice Standards. Unbiased, fair, and dependable RNs will help to shape the day-to-day practice of all RNs in our province by governing these key areas.
The role of College Council, and subsequently the College of Registered Nurses, is focused on protecting the public and operating in the best interest of the public. The College Council does not engage in advocacy-related endeavors. All members of the College Council have a responsibility to the public and will not promote or advocate a particular geographic region or domain. All positions are established as a means of obtaining diverse, regulatory-focused insight and contribution from all areas of our province.
The ideal candidate for nominations should:
- Be willing to serve a three-year term from 2024-2027;
- Maintain a practicing licence throughout the term;
- Have the ability to attend meetings and events throughout the term; and
- Be familiar with Council policy GP-1: Role of Council and abide by Council Code of Conduct (GP-2) and Conflict of Interest (GP-3) policies. Click HERE to view GP policies.
RNs are invited to submit nominations for the following offices for the term 2024-2027:
- Regional Councillors:
- Central Region
- Labrador-Grenfell Region
- Domain Councillors:
- Education/Research
- Administration
Criteria for nominations are outlined in the CRNNL By-Laws 2023. To submit a nomination, complete and submit the online Nomination Forms by November 10, 2023.
